Packing for a month is difficult. Deciding what makeup to bring, the only makeup you will have for your time there unless you buy new stuff, is also very difficult.
The amount I brought may seem excessive to some but I love (and am admittedly obsessed with) makeup. I condensed down what I was bringing a bit and tried to cover all my bases.

I brought the Naked and Naked 3 because the colors of both are neutral and very versatile. Both can be used for day and night and the colors don't overlap in these palettes. I picked Naked over Naked 2 (I was always planning on bringing 3 since it is the most different from the others) because I use some of the colors in the Naked palette and the brush for my brows which eliminates me having to bring extra products.
For the rest of my eye products, I brought 5 (actually 6 but one was completely melted and broken) eyeliner pencils, a gel liner, a chromaline, a paint pot (as my primer) and 3 mascaras.
When I'm just throwing on some eyeliner or lining my bottom lashes I like to use a pencil rather than the pot of gel and I like to have a variety of colors to vary the intensity. I also like to layer my mascaras and I needed one that was waterproof incase I was going swimming or it was going to rain.

I managed to fit a lot of stuff into my makeup bag and used almost everything I brought (I could've brought less brushes with me but oh well). Everything lasted me the month and I didn't feel like I was missing any essentials.
