Nailed It

I love all things glitter, sparkly, and turquoise (can you tell by my phone case?). My nails were looking not so hot and I decided to treat myself to a mani pedi.

I wanted to get gel polish because I have to wash my hands a lot and I wanted it to last for longer than a week before I needed them redone. Gel + glitter = 'nuff said. I got my pedicure done first, just a normal one using OPI's Russian Navy. Besides black polish navy has to be my favorite, then sparkles and then Fiji.

Time for my manicure. The color under my accent nail is the most similar gel color they could find since if the glitter would wear off, it wouldn't be as obvious. They first went through and painted all of the black and blue first coats and cured them. Then they painted the second black coats and cured. Then they painted the second blue coat and cured it. Top coat and cure to all of the black fingers and then it was time for the glitter. First they did one session of top coat and cure to the blue nail and then they put more top coat and started sprinkling the glitter over my nail. After pressing down the glitter time for another cure. Then they washed the excess sparkles off my hands and voila!

There are many different possibilities this salon could do with glitter, they would do whole nail (like mine) or even gradients from top to bottom or vice versa. The gradient glitter they would recommend having a different base color and no lie I may have to try that next...
