Since it rained one of the days I was on vacation, obviously I went shopping (maybe a haul post later this week?). Since I've been a little MIA due to relaxing by the pool and at the beach I thought I would do a quick post and because got home last night so I'm not very organized at the moment! I was running to get my hair colored and trimmed today, which you can the result at the end of this post!
OOTD:
For more of my outfit and to see my new hair keep reading!
Seeing as I was going to be sitting in the hair salon for quite a bit, comfort was necessary. A flowy top, slim straight jeans and black suede pointed flats did the trick - being comfy while looking like I have my life together is always a plus. This top is SO comfy and honestly kind of like being wrapped in a blanket. The color is a very pretty neutral light taupe/gray brown color and I actually did my eye makeup to match the color a little bit, not on purpose. These jeans are kind of ankle length on me though I don't believe they are supposed to be.. tall girl problems. I just pull the legs down a little but they look really cute with flats!
Surprisingly, this shirt is the only new purchase I'm wearing in this outfit. It was on major sale, we're talking like $18 from some absurd price! My necklace is just the one I wear everyday and I kept my hair out of the picture because this was before I got it done (frankly, it was a mess).
Top: Emma & Sam (from LFstores)
Jeans: AG Stevie Jean (from Anthropologie)
Shoes: Madewell (from a year or two ago)
Now for the hair!!
I severely needed a trim and my color touched up but I didn't want to go before I would be in the sun, salt and chlorine since it would speed up the fading. When I initially went to get it colored, I asked for a cool tone dark brown (like my natural hair) with some of a violet-based red. It came out beautifully and the next time we added a little more red. Since it comes out very dark (absolutely love) I thought it would be good to try and make it more springy.
The violet-based red gives my hair the purple hue in some lights that I happen to really like but if you don't then just get a cool toned red that isn't violet based or even warm it up!
Natural Lighting vs. Flash
I was debating getting ombre but since the color would fade off the ends (just leaving the lightened/bleached part) I decided against it. Per her suggestion, my stylist still lightened up bits and pieces (like balayage but not as intense) to make the ends appear not as heavy and so when it fades it won't be as dramatic as it would be if just the bottom bit faded.

I am in LOVE with the way it turned out! I loved how much dimension the color had before and now there is even more and it changes dramatically depending on the light.
What do you think of the color - would you rock it?
Let me know if you want to see more OOTDs and if you want to see a haul of the goodies I got on my trip!
